MultiVersus Return Could Happen Soon, Suggests Promotion In McDonald’s Australia

Player First Games is keeping quiet about exactly when MultiVersus is coming back, but according to a promotion running at McDonald’s Australia, it could happen sooner rather than later.

The Happy Meal page for its website (spotted by Edmond Tran on Twitter) mentions a number of Crash Bandicoot toys, and at the bottom of the page says “coming soon…WB MultiVersus” alongside a bunch of character tins. These refer to characters seen in the game prior to it being shut down, and don’t list any newcomers.

MultiVersus was released in July 2022 in Open Beta form, and went on to prove highly successful for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, attracting over 20 million players. Inspired by the likes of Super Smash Bros., MultiVersus sees a wealth of characters from franchises owned by WB, including Batman, Game of Thrones, The Iron Giant, Scooby-Doo, and Tom & Jerry.

Player First Game supported MultiVersus with a bunch of post-launch updates for bug fixing, maps and additional characters, although until the game comes back online we won’t know its plans are for the brawler. During its beta period the game saw a couple of seasons and a festive event, with characters including Velma, Marvin the Martian, Taz, and more joining the roster.
