Muv-Luv trilogy heading to PlayStation Vita in English as Kickstarter hits $500K

In just one week, the Kickstarter to localize Muv-Luv trilogy into English has raised over $500,000, double the initial goal, and hitting the half million goal unlocked the stretch goal of the PlayStation Vita and Android versions of the hit visual novel series.

At the time of writing, the only ways to score the PS Vita release is by either as an add-on after the Kickstarter ends (via BackerKit) or by donating $150, which awards all digital stretch goal items along with a physical copy of the Muv-Luv trilogy in a signed collector’s display box, Kickstarter Special Artbook, and Master Original Soundtrack Collection on DVD.

We’ve reached out to see if there will be a reward level to receive solely the PS Vita version. The $60 contribution level awards a digital PC copy.

According to the Muv-Luv Kickstarter’s FAQ, the PS Vita version is planned to be released digitally only, but did encourage fans to be vocal if they desire a physical copy.

The Muv-Luv series previously released on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in Japan.

About Muv-Luv from the Kickstarter:

Penned by the successful author of Kimi ga Nozumu Eien (well-known as Rumbling Hearts or “Kiminozo”), Koki Yoshimune, the Muv-Luv series started as a high school romance Visual Novel game in 2003 but quickly evolved into an epic science fiction based saga featuring an alternate world, giant aliens, mecha robots, and a complex cast of characters.

Selling more than half a million units since release in Japan alone, The Muv-Luv series has successfully made the transition to anime and manga, even spawning the “Moe Military” trend which is still raging in Japan. With over 3 million individual figurines, robot hobby models, and anime/manga sold; Muv-Luv is a force to be reckoned with and has influenced a huge number of individuals all over the world including prominent artists and creators!
