The PlayStationGameSize Twitter account has uncovered evidence that a native PS5 Spotify app is on the way, just one day after it was reported that a native PS5 Disney Plus app is also in the pipeline.
Right now the Spotify app is available via the console’s PS4 backwards compatibility, so a native version of the app would be handy for PS5 owners.

Nothing official has been announced yet, but a native PS5 version of the app isn’t to hard to imagine considering the PS3 and PS4 receive one back in 2015. There’s no word yet on what a native PS5 edition could bring, but given the console’s support for 3D audio, there’s very chance this could be supported with the app.
The Spotify app is available in nearly 70 countries on PlayStation platforms, and gives you access to millions of songs that can be played during the middle of a game. You need a Spotify account to take advantage of the service, but it’s free to sign up.
The PS5 launched back in November 2020 in the US, UK, Europe, and other major regions, and has shipped 21.7 million units worldwide.
Sony’s latest home console has been plagued by stock shortages since its launch, although Sony has said that it is looking to improve supply for the console in time for holiday 2022.
