Start your engines – Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered has been leaked on Amazon UK for a November 13, 2020 release. Spotted by Wario64 on Twitter, though the Amazon UK listing only shows Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered releasing on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on November 13, a PS4 version is practically an inevitability.
Leaked by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb back in June, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is seemingly the next step in EA’s strategy to focus more on remasters and remakes of titles in its extensive back catalogue. Originally released back in 2010 for PS3 and developed by Criterion Games, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit honored its namesake by placing an emphasis on high speed chases and white-knuckle combative point-to-point racing.
It’s also worth noting that Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered also exists separately from the next proper Need for Speed title which is also being developed by Burnout Paradise studio Criterion Games and will release on PS4 and PS5 sometime later in 2021. If true, the release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered would follow on from EA’s previous remastered release of Burnout Paradise Remastered, which released on PS4 back in 2018.
