A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Games has revealed that NetherRealm Studios and TT Games all remain part of the company going forward, following rumours that Warner Bros. is looking to cut the fat in its gaming division.
Concern was sparked after Jez Corden from Windows Central spotted a document that revealed that NetherRealm and TT Games were not considered “in the scope” of WB Games’ future, with the company apparently now looking for potential buyers.
Fortunately, that does not seem to be the case, as revealed in a statement to TheGamer:
I can confirm NetherRealm Studios and TT Games will continue to remain a part of Warner Bros. Games, and all are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger. The company says it has nothing more to add on how alleged documents on a potential sale got out, or how the rumours began.
NetherRealm is a pretty big deal to be fair, since they’re the studio behind the hugely successful Mortal Kombat reboot, while TT Games has made a name for itself with the multitude of LEGO titles.
Speaking of the former, they’ve now wrapped up support for Mortal Kombat 11 following a lengthy post-launch slate and are working on their next support.
