David Sirland, Lead Producer on the Battlefield franchise, has revealed in a series of posts on X that the development team behind the new entry in the franchise is ‘cherry picking’ to take the best elements from previous Battlefields for the new title.
We are pretty well informed of what were not appreciated in the last one, the one before and the other lot. We are looking to find the best possible cherry pick strategy for each area. You’ll have to play to see what I mean.

In another post, SIrland was asked about the game’s performance in terms of targeted frame rate, to which he responded:
It’s never too early or too late to talk performance :). The goal is to allow for the best possible latency of gameplay at the largest of scales. We are doing things we haven’t done before to achieve that. There are more details in the labs build, and we’ll discuss specifics later on.
The new Battlefield game is currently in development presumably for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with EA confirming the title will launch before April 2026. The first pre-Alpha footage of the new Battlefield game was released last week, alongside the Battlefield Labs initiative.
