New Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc trailer guilty of mixing Battle Royale with Phoenix Wright

NIS America released a new trailer for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc explaining its life-or-death premise, filled with high school trials.

 

 

In Danganronpa, a sadistic bear named Monokuma traps the students of Hope’s Peak Academy at their prestigious high school for life. A student will only be allowed to leave if if he or she can kill a fellow classmate and be found not guilty. Think Battle Royale meets Phoenix Wright in this suspenseful visual novel adventure developed by Spike Chunsoft (Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, Conception series).

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc will land on PlayStation Vita systems in North America on February 11 in North America and in Europe on February 14, with both English and Japanese audio included. It was originally released in Japan as a game on the PlayStation Portable, before being ported to iOS, Android, & Vita.

A sequel titled Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy came out in Japan. Days before Tokyo Game Show 2013, a spinoff third-person Vita game named Absolute Despair Girl: Danganronpa Another Episode was announced for 2014. Neither games are confirmed for the West at this time. Danganronpa has also spawned novels, manga comics, and an anime adaptation, which is available for streaming by Funimation.
