The 2005 DOOM movie was, to put it gently, a bit guff. When your standout moment is a silly first-person section that only amplifies how much you’d rather be playing the games, you definitely goofed.
It was also one of many films to waste Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, save for an unintentionally hilarious line of ”Semper Fi Motherfucker”.
That’s not to say it shouldn’t get another crack at the silver screen, because if Resident Evil can go multiple films without setting the world on fire, why not DOOM?
Well, it seems a brand new DOOM movie is actually in the works if the Twitter account for Actress/Singer Nina Bergman (Assassin X), is anything to go by.
Danish actress Bergman tweeted out the rather excitable announcement that she had been signed to a new DOOM movie and that it has a great director and a “much better script.”
Wow I'm doing the next “Doom” movie w/Universal Pictures! I just signed all the paperwork. I get to go back to Bulgaria again and work with some of my favorite people. This movie w/a super cool Director AND my new record coming out, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

Universal has not made any official announcement for a new DOOM movie, but it would appear that’s coming sooner rather than later. Perhaps to tie in with a possible DOOM 2 video game, which could be announced at E3 2018.
In the meantime, the DOOM game from 2016 is plenty of Hell-based entertainment.
