Fresh details on the Cory Barlog’s next major project, rumoured to be a new franchise set within the God of War universe, have emerged via tipster NateTheHate, who claims Faye will be the lead protagonist in the project.
Writing in a post on X, the leaker stated that not only is Faye the lead character, but the gameplay will focus more on action and therefore differs from what players experienced in God of War’s Norse saga. He also claimed that the project is set to be revealed this year and launch in the first half of 2027, assuming of course there are no delays.
Sony had previously announced that it is remaking the original God of War trilogy, which will feature TC Carson in the role of Kratos. Christopher Judge, who voiced the character in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok, was recorded by a YouTuber recently where he can be heard stating that he “we’re doing, probably late summer,” although it is unknown if this is related to Faye-fronted God of War title.
Beyond the games, Amazon is gearing up for production on its God of War live-action series, and last week released the first promotional image of Kratos and Atreus, played by Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson, respectively.
