Pragmata Update 1.21 was recently rolled out by Capcom and comes with a very notable, albeit undocumented change in that it bumps the internal resolution from 864p to 1080p on PS5 Pro, matching the standard version of the console. Prior to this update, RT reflections appeared in lower resolution, although this was countered by the use of PS5 Pro’s PSSR upscaling.
The initial PS5 Pro support for the critically acclaimed sci-fi outing is noted for offering a fantastic performance, but oddly used a lower internal resolution than the base PS5 while in 60 FPS mode. That’s now been rectified, offering a welcome boost to image quality in the process. As noted by Brazil Pixel (and detailed by Digital Foundry), a test of Pragmata update 1.21 found that the internal resolution was higher when using the creator’s bespoke tools.
DF conducted its own testing and noted there is a clear difference between versions 1.20 and 1.21 of Pragmata when running the game on the PS5 Pro in terms of image quality, particularly in regards to geometry and effects “with long straight lines of edges.” Prior to this update, RT reflections appeared in lower resolution, although this was countered by the use of PS5 Pro’s PSSR upscaling.
Pragmata was released for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on April 17, 2026. You can read our review here.
