New PS4 controller and PlayStation Move controllers registered by Sony

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has registered a new PS4 controller (DualShock 4) and PlayStation Move controller ahead of next month’s PlayStation Meeting in New York City.

The console maker’s filing was discovered by a member of the forum Beyond3D, and was placed with an Indonesian certification agency, which appears to be the equivalent of North America’s FCC.

Sony requires said certification to allow it to legally sell the new peripherals, which are listed as CECH-ZCM1G (PlayStation Move) and CUH-ZCT2G (DualShock 4).

What’s the difference between the current Dualshock 4 and the new one?

So far, we don’t know the exact details, but it’s been reported the new pad will include a light bar above the touchpad. It’s unknown at this point however if the feature replaces the light bar on the standard DualShock 4.

The news comes on the heels of Sony’s leaked PS4 Slim console, which we revealed yesterday comes with a new variation of the DualShock 4 pad. While Sony has yet to officially unveil the slimmer console, the system is confirmed as the real deal after it was sold on Gumtree.

Just recently, the PS4 Slim appeared on eBay and was also listed on British retailer CEX, who confirmed it would be selling the console for £380 once stock arrives.

Sony is expected to announce the PS4 Slim alongside the upcoming PS4 Neo during the aforementioned PlayStation Meeting early next month.
