The update will come with various balance adjustments for the cast as well as what looks like a wall stagger mechanic, where you can trip up your opponent when pressuring them. The trailer also confirms that the Tekken World Tour will host its finals in Amsterdam in February 2023.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of the trailer however is what appears to be a brief teaser for Tekken 8. We’re treated to Kazuya Mishima’s ending from Tekken 1, where he throws Heihachi off a cliff; this then transitions into a brand new render for Kazuya, who grins at the camera.
Tekken 7 was originally released in arcades back in 2015, and arrived on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in June 2017. The game received four season of content and sold over nine million copies worldwide, making it by far the most successful entry in the franchise.
