New Yakuza game coming to PS4 in 2018

SEGA has announced that a brand new entry in the Yakuza franchise will be released on PlayStation in 2018.

While details are thin on the ground at present – we don’t even have an official title or release date yet – the Yakuza Team has confirmed that the game will take place after the upcoming sixth instalment in the series, and therefore won’t star Kazuma Kiryu.

Nonetheless, the studio did release a teaser trailer for the new Yakuza game, which offers a glimpse at its new protagonist. Check it out below.

Elsewhere, SEGA also announced Yakuza Online for a 2018 launch on PC, iOS, and Android. As with the new Yakuza game, this online-based spinoff title will take place following the events of Yakuza 6, although further details have yet to be confirmed at this point.

Yakuza 6 is due for release on PS4 in the U.S. and Europe in March 2018, with Yakuza Kiwami, a full remake of the original game, now available for Sony’s flagship console.
