No Man’s Sky first major update is already being worked on

The developer behind the PlayStation 4 and PC title No Man’s Sky has confirmed it is already working on the first major update for the hotly anticipated space exploration romp.

Writing on Twitter, Sean Murray gave players a hint as to what they can expect from the update, which will presumably be released not long after the game launches.

Wrapping up a month of work on our first update. Lots of new features, balancing and content,” said Murray.

No Man’s Sky release date is less than one week away—are you ready?

Originally scheduled to arrive in June 2016, No Man’s Sky will now be released in North America on August 9 and in Europe on August 10. If you can’t wait that long, then whet your appetite by listening to the game’s official soundtrack.

Hello Games has been releasing a number of videos over the past few weeks that cover basic aspects of No Man’s Sky, such as exploration, combat, survival, and trading. Be sure to give them a look if you haven’t already done so.

While technically not a single-player game, the fact No Man’s Sky contains such a vast open-world to explore means it is unlikely you’ll ever meet up with another player within game world.

In fact, Hello Games has gone on record to say that around 99.9 percent of No Man’s Sky’s planets are unlikely to be explored by gamers. Considering there is a jaw-dropping 18 quintillion of them, we’re not surprised.

The studio recently confirmed that a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to play the game, although you’ll need an Internet connection to upload any information you gather to the Atlas system.
