No Man’s Sky gets a new trailer encouraging you to survive

Hello Games has released a new No Man’s Sky trailer for your viewing pleasure, this time focusing on survival within the game’s sprawling open-world.

The trailer follows on from previous videos highlighting the three other core pillars of No Man’s Sky, namely Explore, Trade, and Fight. Check it out below.

No Man’s Sky release date confirmed for August 2016

Originally scheduled to hit PlayStation 4 and PC in June, No Man’s Sky will now launch in the U.S. on August 9 and in Europe on August 10. The game has been in the works for around three years now, and at one point almost ended up on the cutting room floor after Hello Games’ offices were flooded during the Christmas holiday season a few years back.

While technically not a single-player game, the fact No Man’s Sky contains such a vast open-world to explore means it is unlikely you’ll ever meet up with another player within game world.

In fact, Hello Games has gone on record to say that around 99.9 percent of No Man’s Sky’s planets are unlikely to be explored by gamers. Considering there is a jaw-dropping 18 quintillion of them, we’re not surprised.

The studio recently confirmed that a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to play the game, although you’ll need an Internet connection to upload any information you gather to the Atlas system.
