The official box art for Death Stranding has been revealed during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
The images below and the announcement of this news comes from the PlayStation Blog. Both the regular box art and the steelbook art was revealed by Hideo Kojima at the panel and they look mostly similar. The steelbook art features a more grizzled Sam.
You can check both pieces of box art out below:
Personally, I am not a fan of the design as it feels uninspired. Death Stranding is such a weird and crazy game, that the decision to just use a close up of Sam’s face feels questionable to me. However, be sure to let us know what you think of it.
If you want to get a good overview of all the characters, some new details and gorgeous posters were revealed back in May. Alongside the standard release, the game will be getting multiple editions, with various collectibles.
There is a lot to Death Stranding and Hideo Kojima did his best to explain the game when the release date was revealed back in May:
Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the player’s goal is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. All elements, including the stoy and gameplay are bound together by the theme of “Strand”, or connection.
As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to “Bridge” these divisions, and in doing so, create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
Death Stranding releases for PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019.
What do you think of the box art? Are you a little disappointed like me or are you happy with it?
