Reports of Overwatch 2 server downtime have plagued the hero shooter following a period of maintenance overnight, with two heroes being temporarily removed from the game by Blizzard Entertainment.
Bastion and Torbjorn were removed from the game, although if you choose Quick Play you can still take Torbjorn for a spin. Here’s the full blurb from Blizzard: “Bastion and Torbjörn will be taking a quick trip to the workshop while we iron out a few bugs in their ability kit.”

Despite the maintenance having been completed, users are still reporting that Overwatch 2 servers are down, while those that have managed to access the game are met with an incomplete roster. Meanwhile, some players are flagging up problems with the account merge feature, stating still isn’t working properly.
Booting up Overwatch 2 for the first time on console should prompt you with an option to merge accounts, but reports coming in state that this isn’t the case. While some are able to merge accounts, they claim that their cosmetics are absent.
Overwatch 2’s launch has been plagued by various issues including multiple DDoS attacks, while its controversial use of a SMS Protect irked more than a few players in the fan base.
