The highly anticipated Overwatch Summer Games 2017 is rolling out later today for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One owners of the critically acclaimed shooter, and here’s everything you need to know about the event to get you started.
Overwatch Summer Games 2017 start time
Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the event will kick off today, August 8. While a time hasn’t been revealed, Overwatch updates are usually scheduled for around 6.00pm BST/1.00pm EST. The event will last three weeks, wrapping up on August 29.
Overwatch Summer Games 2017 skins
Players can look forward to a series of new skins as part of the Overwatch Summer Games event. However, you can also grab last year’s skins at a reduced price, and they’ll also be available in loot boxes. See below for more details.
New Summer Games 2017 cosmetic items will cost the following:
Legendary Skins: 3,000 credits
Epic Skins: 750 credits
Rare tier: 225 credits
Common tier: 75 credits
Summer Games 2016 cosmetics will be available at a reduced cost:
Legendary Skins: 1,000 credits
Epic Skins: 250 credits
Rare tier: 75 credits
Common tier: 25 credits
Overwatch Summer Games 2017 – will Lucioball return?
Overwatch’s Rocket League-inspired Lucioball will be returning for this year’s Summer Games event, and comes equipped with a brand new map set in Sydney, Australia. In addition, the mini-game will also feature various balance changes, with matches rotating between the Sydney and Rio Stadium.
