PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One users are being affected by a pesky Overwatch unexpected server error at the moment, which basically means you’re unable to get into a match regardless of what platform you’re playing on.
Overwatch Unexpected Server Error Details
The Overwatch unexpected server error is basically the result of the game’s servers being offline, so it’s nothing to do with your Internet connection or console. However, this does, annoyingly, mean that there isn’t an awful lot you can do about it until Blizzard fixes things at their end.
Interestingly, there’s been a new update just released for Overwatch, so we can’t rule out the possibility of this having something to do with this latest server issue.
The error has been cropping up numerous times over the years, and a Reddit thread has indicated that the cause of it could be related to a new title update. Unannounced maintenance could also be a reason for the problems.

Overwatch was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One back in May 2016, and has remained one of the most popular multiplayer titles around ever since. A sequel is currently in the works, although a release date has not been confirmed.
The original game was a huge success, raking in over 50 million players in three years and generating $1 billion in revenue during its first year of release. In addition, Overwatch has proven hugely popular in the esports scene, with Blizzard funding and producing the Overwatch League to facilitate its success.
All new heroes, maps, and modes will be accessible in Overwatch despite the sequel being sold as a separate game.
