Epic Games is known for its use of keyboard and mouse in PlayStation 3 title Unreal Tournament 3, and the same is said for Paragon, the team’s next title on console. The recent statement from the development team indicated that the gameplay will be liquid smooth as well.
During a Twitch stream of Paragon, Epic Games stated that a solid frame rate is one of the team’s primary focuses. "That’s something that would be so cool to have," said Senior Programmer Daniel Wright in regards to featuring volumetric lighting on the PS4 version of Paragon, "We would love to have that no just for Paragon but, you know, for the engine in general. It’s not on the plan right now, we’re focusing on 60FPS on console so that takes a lot of effort." With a statement like this, the visuals may need a manipulation in order to meet the graphical prowess on PC.
Adding to this, Epic Games PR Manager under the name nicholasbrutal indicated that Paragon may be perfect for consoles:
"That said, we have players on both platforms playing against one another, and there doesn’t appear to be any significant advantage to using either input device. Our top player plays on PC but uses a controller. :)"
It has been confirmed that a keyboard and mouse will be available for Paragon players on PS4, but with news like this, Paragon will find a perfect home on the PS4 with the DualShock 4. Paragon is set to launch Summer 2016 with paid early access in the Spring, and apart from the paid early access, Paragon is set to be free to play.
