Payday2: Crimewave Edition developer Overkill Software has spoken about the performance of both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of its upcoming shooter.
Speaking with Videogamer, producer Almir Listo suggests that the PS4 and Xbox One versions are not identical, and that the performance on PS4 could be better than its Xbox One equivalent.
"They [PS4 and Xbox One] are both going to be… I don’t know if I’m able to say ‘identical’, but basically we’re going to cram in as much as we can," Listo said.
"It would be unfair of me to say that they’re going to be identical, because if hypothetically speaking we can make the PS4 make better stuff than the Xbox One does, then why wouldn’t we do that? If we can take it up a notch, improve the frame rate a bit or whatever, why wouldn’t we do that?"
Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is the re-release of bank heist game Payday 2. The PS4 version will include rebuilt visuals in 1080p and all the DLC that landed with the original game. For more details, check out what we thought about Payday 2 on PS3.
