Persona 4 Revival TGS 2026 Hands-On Impressions, Gameplay Video, And Live Dance Performance Video

Persona 4 Revival Hands-On Preview. Atlus has been rocking it in recent years with numerous game hits including re-releases and remasters like Persona 3 Reload. Next in the pipeline is a full remake of the fan-favorite Persona 4. For years, its expanded version, Persona 4 Golden, was stuck exclusively on the PlayStation Vita handheld. When Golden was finally ported to PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox Series consoles, Persona 4 was finally easily playable on modern platforms. Not content with that however, Atlus is now modernizing it, as they did with Persona 3, with a full remake. Persona 4 Revival was a tentpole game for Sega at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where it was playable.

Over the years, Persona 4 has become a very much loved entry in the hit JRPG series. So it’s no surprise that it had a huge presence and took up a lot of Sega Atlus’ TGS 2026 booth with numerous demo stations set up for attendees to play. On the booth stage, there were even dance performances by dancers cosplaying as Persona 4’s characters.

Eagerly, I went hands-on with the Persona 4 Revival, playing both the Dungeon and Story demos that were available. Visually, it looks great and is the sharpest and most animated Persona 4 has ever looked. Characters’ CG model animations are more expressive, especially in their facial expressions, and the CG cutscenes feature more cinematic direction and camerawork. Additionally, there are new 2D anime cutscenes done beautifully by MAPPA, the studio behind hit anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and the final season of Attack on Titan.

Similar to Persona 3 Reload, P4 Revival brings P4 up to the more modern standards such as with its pacing, gameplay, and snappy UI that Atlus nailed in Persona 5. The various improvements in these aspects and other quality of life improvements should make for an experience more palpable to newcomers and an interesting way for existing fans to re-visit Persona 4.

Persona 4 Revival will launch on February 18, 2027 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series consoles and May 20, 2027 for Switch 2.
