I’m open to playing and reviewing all sorts of games. Ones that look good, bad, weird, idiotic, and even occasionally, I’ll even try one that’s fun.
I can’t say I expected much of the recent PS4 title Planet 2000. This base defense-style game looks appallingly basic, and is a dull mess to handle. Just look at the first seven or so minutes I spent with the game.
There’s no doubt Planet 2000 is an astoundingly awful example of a PS4 game. It’s not even in ‘so bad it’s good’ territory, well, at least not in any part you play.
The opening sequence, that serves as both plot exposition and tutorial introduction, is live action, and it’s so very, laughably, bad. Just look at this three plus minute wonder and revel in the majesty of it.

A little digging on the actresses shows they’re not just people dragged off the street with the promise of a TV movie career, no these ladies are in the business of ‘adult entertainment’ and fairly well known too. Interestingly the developer has a long-standing background in the porn industry as well, and Planet 2000, a sequel to an equally dire android app, is not even the company’s first foray into games, with a more porn-centric title releasing on Steam before this magnum opus surfaced.
So remember, there’s joy to be gleaned from all kinds of games, even if that joy is merely revelling in an acting horror show in a toxic pit of a videogame.
