MultiVersus isn’t even out yet, and it has already done what players for years thought practically impossible. It established itself as a platform fighter, that could finally compete with Smash Bros.
Developer Player First Games took the time the game was in open beta to really work and tweak things along with the community. Then halfway through 2023, it took what felt like a risk for an online game with such traction, by taking the game entirely offline, until it would return in its full launch form.
That moment seems to be quite imminent, as Player First Games has recently teased that players should “Stay tooned” for an announcement Monday, March 11, 2024 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 1pm GMT.
This could very well be the game being shadow-dropped back into the world, though it could also just be an announcement as to when the game is coming, to get players ready to jump back in.
MultiVersus was hugely popular when it went offline last year. Now that Player First Games has seemingly had the time it needed to work on the full launch, it’ll be exciting to have it back in the gaming landscape.
