PlayLink Games Won’t Be Supported On PS5, Adding To The List Of Non Backwards Compatible Titles

Sony has confirmed today that its selection of PlayLink games will not be supported on PS5, adding a good handful of extra games to the list of non-backwards compatible PS4 games on PS5.

The only reason these games are not playable on PS5 is due to the fact that Sony’s new console won’t support second-screen experiences or game companion apps, with the new PlayStation Support page stating “PS5 consoles do not support the PS4 Second Screen app or game companion apps”. This means that the following titles won’t be playable on PS5:

  • Chimparty
  • Frantics
  • Hidden Agenda
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Melbits World
  • Knowledge Is Power
  • Knowledge Is Power: Decades
  • That’s You
  • Wordhunters
  • Ticket To Ride

However, Erica will still be playable on PS5 as the game supports Dualshock 4 as a controller, meaning you can still play one of the PS4’s most underrated games. You can check out our review of Erica here. It is sad to see these games become unplayable, but Sony hasn’t done much with PlayLink for a while now, so overall it isn’t entirely surprising.

The PS5 releases on November 12, 2020, in the US and November 19, 2020, in the UK and EU.
