PlayStation Home v1.4 coming Nov. 11, adds voice chat

The PlayStation Home client will be updated to version 1.4 on November 11, 2010, PlayStation Home community specialist "Locust_Star" announced on the PlayStation.Blog.

This update offers a number of improvements over the old version of Home, most noticeably the re-introduction of voice chat. A new groups system will allow up to eight people to chat via text and voice across all spaces in Home—a vast improvement over voice chat in the closed beta, which required close physical proximity within a single Home space in order to function properly.

Meanwhile, a number improvements have been made to wardrobe functionality. Items can be marked as favorites, new items are marked accordingly, and a number of filtering and sorting options have been implemented. There’s also a storage section for items that regularly go unused, which improves loading times for the rest of the wardrobe.

"While these are some of the most important changes associated with version 1.4, this does not represent the entire scope of the update," promises Locust_Star. "Trust me – we have tons of cool stuff in store for you next week."
