PlayStation VR – How to Fix Blurry Vision

When I first started out playing PlayStation VR a week or so ago, images were crystal clear on my screen, until I first took the headset off for a break, and put it back on again.

All of sudden images were a bit blurry, making it sometimes difficult to read in-game notes or achieve perfect clarity when interacting with characters or gawping at backgrounds.

I presumed this was something to do with the way I was wearing the VR headset, or how far I was sitting from my T.V, but it turns out that I hadn’t optimised my vision using the settings.

PlayStation VR troubleshooting for blurred vision

Try this for a fix for blurry vision with PlayStation VR.

1. Plug your PS VR headset in and turn it on
2. Go to (Settings) > [Devices] > [PlayStation VR]
3. Choose measure eye-to-eye distance

This allows you to optimize the distance between your eyes and your display. You’ll be requested to stand 70cm from your display and place your face so that it fits into the two designated areas on the screen. Stand too far away or too close and it’s not going to work as well as it should.

Use a measuring tape to ensure you sit the exact distance away from your screen while measuring your eye-to-eye distance.

You now have to use the thumbstick on the DualShock 4 to move four targets on the the screen to indicate where the center of your eyes are. Follow the on-screen instructions and you’re all set!

If you’re still seeing blurry images, then make sure you are using the cloth that comes with PlayStation VR to clean the lenses of your headset. You’ll be surprised how quickly they steam up!
