Circana’s Mat Piscatella has revealed that the top 10 best-selling games on PlayStation platforms during the second quarter of 2025 are largely made up of Microsoft-published titles some of which were Xbox-exclusives.
Forza Horizon 5 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered are ranked first and second, respectively, on the top 10, both of which are published by Microsoft. If that wasn’t enough, we also have Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (no.4), DOOM: The Dark Ages (no.5), and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (no.6, making a total of six games that are published by Microsoft. Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones were both previously Xbox-exclusives, too.

“Pulling together our huge Q2 Games Market Dynamics report, which includes this chart (among, like, frankly too many others) and just kinda stared at this one for a bit,” commented Piscatella. “Wild times in the console market these days. Imagine showing this list to someone in 2015.”
Microsoft adopted a multiformat strategy last year by bringing a number of its Xbox-exclusives to PlayStation and Nintendo formats, beginning with Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. This year saw the release of Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in April 2025, and continue with Gears of War Reloaded in August.
Despite this shift, Microsoft is still working on new Xbox hardware alongside Sony, with both companies teaming up with AMD for their next-generation systems.
