Capcom News Pragmata Pragmata May Become A Franchise PS5

Pragmata Could Become A Full-Blown Franchise Thanks To Its Commercial Performance So Far, Says Capcom

Capcom has revealed during a Q&A during its latest financial results that it’s considering turning science-fiction action game Pragmata into its own franchise, noting the game has sold very well since its April launch.

Sales of Pragmata reached 2 million units in the first 16 days after its launch, driven by strong recognition of our development capabilities, including its fresh gameplay that combines action and puzzles, as well as its compelling characters and world setting. Based on this strong start, we will continue our analysis and consider the possibility of developing it into a series.

Back in late May, Pragmata Game Director Yonghee Cho revealed during an interview with GamesRadar that he’s hopeful for a sequel to the game, but was quick to note that it isn’t down to him. However, given Capcom’s comments about transforming the game into a series, it sounds like a Pragmata follow-up could be made a reality down the line.

Pragmata follows Hugh Williams and Diana, and android companion, as they navigate a lunar world ruled by artificial intelligence. The game’s combat loop is particularly unique, a players cannot simply shoot foes to defeat them; Diana must first hack enemies and expose their weakness before Hugh can damage them with conventional weaponry. The bond between the pair is also the beating heart of the narrative, as Hugh and Diana must rely on each other while exploring the world.
