The official Prince of Persia X account has confirmed that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not going to appear at The Game Awards 2025.
“Sorry to disappoint, but can confirm Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t be at TGA this year,” the account wrote. The confirmation follows on the heels of a report from Insider-Gaming’s Tom Henderson, who claimed that Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake is likely to arrive in mid-January 2026, and it was suggested that we may see the game at TGSs. That’s not happening, but there’s still a chance we may see the game before it drops.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was announced in 2020 and was initially pencilled to ship in March 2021, but suffered multiple delays over the years. Back in 2024, it was reported that the game had been completely overhauled, and that same year Ubisoft Toronto joined to help on the project.
The original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was released in 2003 for the PS2, PC, GameCube, and Xbox, and serves as a reboot of the franchise. Despite initial slow sales, the game went on to move over 14 million copies by April 2014, and is cited as one of the greatest video games ever made and the main reason for the franchise’s return to fame.
