In something of a favourable nudge to PlayStation 3 owners, Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein has issued a statement regarding development of the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3.
“The PS3 is an open system, and they embrace user-created content”, said Rein. “
“But there isn’t really a way to do that on the 360. So our job, when we finish the PS3 version, and we’ve taken a little break, is to sit down with Microsoft and to figure out how we can do mods on their system.”
So the development cycle for the 360 port has not even commenced yet? This could possibly mean that the Xbox 360 version could be a long ways off, giving the PS3 it’s much needed exclusivity.
Unreal Tournament III marks the series first ever debut onto the next-gen consoles. The game will feature many of the classic match types such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture-the-Flag, and a whole slew of modes such as Warfare mode. Over 24 updated weapons and vehicles will be added to give great amount of excitement for players of all skill levels.
