Speaking ahead of NPD Group figures for March, Wedbush Morgan analyst has said that the PlayStation 3 outsold Microsoft’s Xbox 360 for the third consecutive month in North America.
Speaking in a note to investors today, Pachter forecast PS3 sales at 365,000 units, edging out the Xbox 360 at 310,000 units during the same period.
Nintendo Wii is predicted to outsell both machines combined at roughly 700,000 units.
Elsewhere, Pachter also forecast US software sales to rise by 47 per cent, reaching USD 850 million. Among the likely top sellers include Army of Two, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Major League Baseball 2K8 and catalog titles such as Wii Play, Guitar Hero III and Rock Band.
NPD figures are expected to release this Thursday.
