Enterbrain, publisher of Japan’s prestigious Famitsu magazine, has revealed that Sony’s PlayStation 3 console has eclipsed the three million unit sales mark in the territory since its launch in November 2006.
Sales data puts the console at approximately 3,008,395 units sold in Japan since its inception, with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 passing the one million mark following its launch in December 2005.
Recently it has been confirmed that PS3 sales in the UK have topped two million, with European sales reaching 8.5 million. Let’s hope Sony can continue this momentum for the foreseeable future.
