Sony has announced via the U.S. PlayStation Blog that it will be offering a PlayStation 4 and a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for just $299.99 during the lucrative Black Friday shopping period.
The bundle will be available on Thursday and run through until the following ‘Cyber Monday,’ and will also be up for grabs during the same period in Canada priced $369.99. The bundle includes a Black 500GB edition of Sony’s current-generation console, a DualShock 4 controller, plus the three-game Uncharted pack, which includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, all remastered in high-definition for PS4.
Sony recently announced a price drop for the PS4 in the U.S. and Europe and will be going head-to-head with Microsoft’s Xbox One over the Black Friday and Christmas holiday period. Last month, the console was outsold by its rival in North America for the first time in a while, although Microsoft had the might of Halo 5: Guardians backing its latest home console. PS4 is still the market leader, having sold-in nearly 30 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2013. Over in the U.K., it has been confirmed that the PS4 is tracking ahead of the PS2 in terms of sales; a great achievement considering PS2 is the best-selling home console of all time.
The Uncharted franchise will be wrapping up early next year with the launch of the hotly anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on PS4. Due out on March 18, 2016, the game has been confirmed by developer Naughty Dog to be the final Uncharted title starring Nathan Drake, although the studio has admitted it is difficult to imagine continuing the series without the cocky fortune hunter. Uncharted 4’s multiplayer beta will be kicking off early next month following its unveiling at Paris Games Week with an action-packed trailer.
