Seemingly Fake PS5 Boot Up Sequence Looks Delightful Regardless

The PS5 rumor mill being what it is, over the past 48 hours or so, you might have heard that some folks had apparently ‘leaked’ the boot up sequence for the PS5, and, well, if you missed it, you can catch the video below:

The thing is, while the video is actually fake (the channel that hosts the video actually made a breakdown video showing how the whole thing was rigged), isn’t it quite the pleasant looking thing?

From the flowing blue ribbon wave graphic that heralds the start up sequence to the nicely overlaid official PS5 logo, we would be surprised if the start up sequence of the final PS5 retail model was massively different from the mock-up shown in the video above.

How do you guys see the boot up sequence for the PS5 looking? Similar to the mock-up video (and by proxy what we have now with PS4), or, do you envision something a little more radical?

Regardless, while rumors like this are nice to acknowledge (to an extent) we yearn for Sony to just hurry the heck up already and give us a date and unveil the thing. Not least because if I see another mock-up like this, I might well lose my mind (as pretty as they might seem to be).

Speaking of such details, as we rapidly accelerate toward the Holiday 2020 PS5 release date, we’re starting to get a firmer picture of what the PS5 might be capable of. Specifically, the AMD leak in late December provided a treasure trove of info about the technical makeup of the PS5, in addition to how it manages backwards compatibility with PS4 games.

As to when Sony decides to finally pull the trigger on the PS5 reveal – we’d say February. Stay tuned!
