Sucker Punch Productions‘ Ghost of Yotei has dethroned EA Sports FC 26 from the summit of the UK physical software charts following its release last week.
As reported by The Game Business’ Christopher Dring, the boxed UK launch for Ghost of Yotei managed to surpass sales of EA Sports FC 26 in only its second week (the football title arrived on September 26, and going back years when it carried the FIFA brand has traditionally remained unchallenged for weeks) and also sold nearly three times as much as Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 on Switch.

However, physical sales of Ghost of Yotei were down about 40% over the game’s predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, but that’s not surprising that game launched five years ago and digital sales have been growing ever since. “It’s down about 40%. But I still find it impressive,” noted Dring.
Ghost of Yotei launched for PS5 on October 2, 2025. Themed around ‘underdog vengeance,’ Ghost of Yotei takes place around Mount Yotei in Enzo some 329 years after Ghost of Tsushima, with players following Atsu, who adopts the persona of the onryo, a vengeful spirit based on Japanese folklore. Atsu is seeking retribution for the murder of of her family and destruction of her home at the hands of the Yotei Six, who are led by Lord Saito, a renegade samurai.
