GSD sales data has revealed that the PS5 enjoyed its most successful month so far in March 2021 as far as European sales are concerned.
As reported by GI.bzi, Sony‘s latest home console was the number one hardware platform in Europe lats month, with countries including France, Italy and Spain all recording strong sales for the PS5. In total, 554,504 consoles — including retro systems and Oculus Quest 2 — were flogged in Europe and Australia last month, although PS5 account for the “majority” of sales.
Furthermore, this number also represents a leap of 17% year-on-year, even with the launch of Animal Crossing New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch.
Elsewhere, the data revealed that 12.6 million software sales were recorded across EMEAA territories last month, with Monster Hunter: Rise being the best-selling game in March 2021.
Sony announced earlier this week during its latest financial results that the PS5 has now sold 7.8 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2021.
