Sony has revealed the key streaming and media apps that will be available on PS5 when the console launches, and there are a number of notable exceptions for UK audiences, like the absence of BBC iPlayer, other TV channel hubs, and Now TV.
With only six apps launching for PS5 on day one, notable streaming apps that are used by UK audiences, like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Now TV, Channel 4 Hub, Channel 5 Hub, and a number of other key apps which you would expect to see on the console at launch if you live in the UK.
Sony has stated that apps will be coming to the console after launch, but if you live in the UK, your PS5 isn’t going to become the centre of your entertainment just yet, with many of these apps likely arriving sometime in 2021.
The PS5 releases on November 12, 2020, in the US and November 19, 2020, in the EU and UK.
