PlayStation has announced that PS5 pre-orders in Egypt will go live this week at retailers in the country on March 25, 2021, ahead of the console’s launch sometime later this year.
The console will cost 15,999 Egyptian Pounds, which works out to about $1015 or £736, which is a steep price hike for the console, with import taxes presumably to blame. PS5 accessories will also be up for pre-order and they aren’t much cheaper either with the DualSense coming in at just under $127 / £91. The DualSense Charging Station is $57 / £41, with the Pulse Headset costing $177 / £128. The camera and media remote are also not much cheaper.
Ultimately, this means gaming in the region is going to cost a lot and will be tough to swallow for many.

PS5 continues to sell well and Sony is aiming to continue to support the console in the future. With the announcement of the PSVR 2, we can expect entirely new experiences to come to the system as well.
