Fresh rumours about the PS5 Pro, which is all but confirmed at this point thanks to the amount of info that has leaked, have surfaced in a new report on The Verge. Here, the publication claims that Sony is expecting all games certified in August to be compatible with PS5 Pro.
The Verge reporter Tom Warren wrote, “I understand developers are able to order test kits right now and that Sony is expecting every game submitted to certification in August to be compatible with the PS5 Pro.” Documents describing the new console state that GPU rendering on PS5 Pro to be “about 45 percent faster than the standard PlayStation 5.”

Previously it was revealed that the PS5 Pro will feature only a smaller CPU performance over the standard version of the console, which has been suggested is due to Sony keeping PS6 backwards compatibility in mind. Meanwhile, the GPU is supposedly going to be a hybrid of RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 design.
Sony hasn’t announced the PS5 Pro yet but it is widely believed that the new console will ship in November 2024. However, it has been reported that some developers are questioning why a PS5 Pro is even happening, as they feel they haven’t maximised the potential of the standard console.
