A new batch of PS5 images have surfaced online, indicating that Sony’s next-generation console will feature swappable plates. This shouldn’t be too shocking, as the format holder has offered swappable faceplates for the PS4.
PS5 Has Swappable Faceplates
Sony hasn’t confirmed anything official yet, but from the images below, it certainly looks like we’ll be able to customise the PS5 to some extent.
The PS5 will be released in holiday 2020, and it’s not expected the console will be delayed despite the disruption caused by the coronavirus. That is, unless Microsoft opts to push back the launch of the Xbox Series X, in which case it’s been suggested a PS5 delay might be possible.
Sony hasn’t yet confirmed the PS5, but has said that it will represent the ‘best value proposition.’ However, a former Microsoft marketing bigwig reckons there’s ‘no way‘ it will retail for over $499.99.
The next State of Play event is expected to take place in August.
