PS5 Takes UK Hardware Top Spot For October 2022

According to GI.biz’s Christopher Dring on Twitter, the PS5 was able to just about take the number one hardware spot in the UK last month despite a strong period for Xbox Series X/S.

PS5 was the No.1 console very narrowly in the UK last month, despite another big month for Xbox Series X and S. With God of War and a big Call of Duty launch, it should be a good Christmas for new-gen consoles if supply continues like this

The PS5 was recently confirmed to have reached 25 million units worldwide during the three-month period ended September 30, 2022.

Sony is gearing up for a huge month with the release of God of War Ragnarok, which should no doubt give PS5 sales a solid spike providing there is sufficient stock. Speaking of the game, be sure to have a gander at our full God of War Ragnarok review here.

The PS5 was released in November 2020 in a number of major territories, but stock quickly depleted and retailers were only able to sporadically restock due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage brought on by the COVID -19 pandemic.
