Randy Pitchford Says Fans Will Be “Very, Very Happy” With What’s Next For Borderlands

We know when the Borderlands movie is going to be out (next week at time of writing) but we still don’t know when to expect the next Borderlands game.

The rumour was that we’d be seeing something of Borderlands 4 or whatever it’ll be called at Summer Games Fest this year – that clearly didn’t happen, so now we’re left looking to Gamescom, or maybe even The Game Awards, all the way in December.

But if you listen to the words of Gearbox chief executive officer Randy Pitchford, not only will we not have to wait long to find out more, but according to Pitchford, fans will be “very, very happy” with what’s to come.

“I haven’t been perfect at hiding the fact that we’re working on many things, and that we’re working on big things,” Pitchford said in an interview with GamesRadar.

“I’m confident that our fans are going to be very, very happy with the next video game project when we are ready to announce it. And I will tell you that we’re not going to be making people wait for a long time before we announce it.

I have the biggest and best team that I’ve ever had working on what we know is exactly what our fans want from us—so I’m very, very thrilled. I can’t wait to talk about it! I wish I could just gush right now because we’ve got so much to say!”

If Pitchford is being genuine with his definition of not making people wait, then it’s probably fair to say that we’ll finally get a look at it at this years Gamescom.
