With the PlayStation Pro 4 release coming very soon, it’s no surprise to start seeing games roll out updates that will support all the Pro features.
James Stevenson, Community Lead for Insomniac Games, just announced that Ratchet & Clank would be releasing an update that will be rolled out prior to the launch of the PS4 Pro.
Players with 4K TV’s will be able to play the game in all of its 4K goodness. Ratchet & Clank will also add support for HDR with a HDMI 2.0 cable. Using “Temporal Injection”, as James describes it, allows Insomniac Games to hit those higher resolutions while also performing “jaggie-eliminating anti-aliasing”.
“The extra resolution and HDR’s ability to display even more of the colorful Solana Galaxy should combine for the best image quality you’ve ever seen in a Ratchet & Clank game”, said James.
Players that do have an HDR-enabled TV but are not upgrading to the PS4 Pro will still get to use the HDR feature in the patch.
