Red Dead Redemption Confirmed For PS5 Release On Dec. 2, Free Upgrade For PS4 Owners

Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption is coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, iOS and Netflix, following yesterday’s news that the game has been rated by the ESRB.

The critically acclaimed Wild West adventure game will feature 60 FPS for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, enhanced image quality, support for High-Dynamic Range (HDR), and up to 4K resolution. Furthermore, those of you who own the game on PS4 will be entitled to a free upgrade, and also transfer your saves across to the PS5 edition.

Red Dead Redemption will come packaged with the Undead Nightmare expansion, which sees players battling zombies across the wilderness in a grisly spinoff to the main campaign.

Step into the events immediately following the blockbuster Red Dead Redemption 2, in the critically acclaimed tale of John Marston’s journey to bury his blood-stained past. In its zombie-horror companion Undead Nightmare, fight to find a cure for the zombie plague that has overrun the frontier. All these new versions feature the complete single-player experiences of both games, and also include bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.

Red Dead Redemption is due out for PS5 on December 2, 2025.
