Red Dead Redemption Physical PS5 Release Now Available For Preorder Ahead Of May 4 Launch

The physical version of Red Dead Redemption for PS5 is launching on May 4, 2026 according to Amazon, with preorders now available at the retailer. Despite all this, Rockstar Games is still keeping mum on the subject.

The disc version of the critically acclaimed Wild West title had previously been outed by Wakkap earlier this month, which listed the game for release on May 7. Previously, Red Dead Redemption had come to Sony’s current-generation system in the form of a digital download back in December 2025. Presumably we’ll hear something from Rockstar Games soon if the physical release is out next week, unless it opts to release it with little fanfare.

The PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption features a number of improvements over previous versions of the title, offering enhanced visuals and frame rate for up to 4K resolution at 60 FPS. Support for High-Dynamic Range (HDR) is also featured, and if you own Red Dead Redemption for PS4 you can transfer any save files to the PS5 edition. Finally, the zombie-themed Undead Nightmare expansion is also included in the PS5 release.

Red Dead Redemption was originally released in May 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
