FBC: Firebreak News PS5 Remedy Tero Virtala

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala Has Stepped Down ‘With Immediate Effect’

Tero Virtala, the CEO of Remedy Entertainment, has left his position with the company ‘with immediate effect,’ just a few weeks after the Alan Wake 2 developer issued a profit warning to investors following the underperformance of FBC: Firebreak.

Remedy commented in a statement to investors today that its board of directors and Virtala had “mutually agreed that Tero Virtala will step down from his position as the company’s CEO with immediate effect,” and will remain with the company in a traditional period where he will aid in the handover of duties to the Remedy’s new CEO.

As a result of Virtala stepping down, Remedy’s Markus Maki will step down from his role as Chairman of the Board while he assumes the role of interim CEO while the company finds a permanent replacement for Virtala. Speaking in a statement on the departure of Virtala, Maki commented:

I want to thank Tero Virtala for his substantial contribution to the management of Remedy since 2016. I personally thank Tero for good cooperation and wish him all the best for the future.
