Remedy Not ‘Satisfied’ With Its Q3 2025 Financial Performance, Remains ‘Confident In Our Ability To Make Great Video Games’

Remedy Entertainment, the creator behind Alan Wake 2 and FBC: Firebreak, has revealed that it is ‘not satisfied’ with its Q3 2025 finical results, which saw the studio record a “decline in revenue and profitability.”

Revenue for the period came in at €12.3 million, a drop of 32% from the same quarter last year, while operating loss was €16.4 million, which doesn’t stack favourably against the same period last year where the figure sat at €2.4 million. The period was hit hard by the commercial disappointing of FBC: Firebreak, which resulted in Remedy issuing a profit warning to investors as a result of the game’s ‘weak sales.’

The news also comes on the back of CEO Tero Virtala stepping down after nine years with the studio, with Markus Mäki taking up the role of interim CEO while Remedy finds a permanent replacement. On the subject of Firebreak, Mäki observed that the game “was technically successful in a cross-platform environment” and its “publishing team and built capabilities which support the release of future self-published titles.”

Beyond that, the executive noted that upcoming titles including Control 2 and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake are “progressing according to plan.” There’s also a third, unannounced project that is currently in the proof of concept stage.

The majority of our effort goes into working with our established franchises – Control and Alan Wake – which we continue to invest in and expand into other media as part of our long-term strategy.

A release date for Control 2 and the remakes of Max Payne 1 & 2 have yet to be announced.
