Remedy has revealed during its half-year financial report (covering January — June 2025) that the studio was ‘unsatisfied’ with launch-phase sales of FBC: Firebreak, but believes the studio has a ‘solid game to build on.’
The Alan Wake developer stated that FBC: Firebreak achieved more than one million players during its 10 days on sale (as previously confirmed), with the majority being PS5 and Xbox Series X/S users. However, the Steam version ‘underperformed,’ with Remedy noting the game saw high early player drop-offs and negative reviews.
Commercially, we were unsatisfied with the launch-phase consumer sales of FBC: Firebreak. Thus far, FBC: Firebreak’s commercial performance has largely been driven by the Xbox and PlayStation subscription service agreements. A considerable portion of the revenues from these agreements will still be recognised throughout the control period.
