Capcom News PS4 Resident Evil Resident Evil 3 remake Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3 Remake PS4 Theme Available With Digital Pre-Order

New Resident Evil 3 News

Those of you who pre-order a digital version of Capcom’s upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will receive a free PS4 Theme for their troubles.

Resident Evil 3 PS4 Theme Confirmed

The theme is static, and replicates the Resident Evil 3 boxart, so you get a dramatic shot of Nemesis in the background flanked by Jill and Carlos. There’s also various sound effects and music plucked from the game, which is nice.

The remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is pencilled in for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on April 3, 2020. The game chronicles Jill Valentine’s attempt to escape a zombie-infested Raccoon City in events that transpire 24 hours before and after Resident Evil 2, which itself was remade earlier this year to great success.

Much like the Resi 2 remake, this latest title will feature an over-the-shoulder perspective, and Capcom is expanding on many elements of the game, including the character of Dario and the classic Hunter enemies.

Pleasingly, the game’s producer has assured fans that Resident Evil 3 Remake will not be delayed, and is roughly 90% complete.

The original version of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released for the PSOne back in 1999, and was ported to the GameCube, Dreamcast, and PC. Resi 3 was also the first entry in the series to introduce the popular Mercenaries mini-game.

Here’s the full blurb on Resident Evil 3:

Jill Valentine is one of the last remaining people in Raccoon City to witness the atrocities Umbrella performed. To stop her, Umbrella unleashes their ultimate secret weapon: Nemesis! Also includes Resident Evil Resistance, a new 1 vs 4 online multiplayer game set in the Resident Evil universe.

While a lot of people seem to be calling out for a Resident Evil 4 remake, I’d argue that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica would benefit from a complete overhaul far more than 2005’s acclaimed horror romp.
